Four dances in vivid, uneven rhythms.
Balkan Time brings Macedonian and Bulgarian folk melodies to the concert band in four contrasting selections: Jovano, Jovanke, Buchimish, Kanjat Me, Mamo, and Gankino Horo. Their shifting meters, close harmonies, quick ornaments, and driving dance energy invite both players and listeners into the distinctive rhythmic world of southeastern Europe.
