Dennis was a prolific and creative instrument builder.

Besides his ground breaking "first gamelan built outside of Java" he created some unique instruments - from silly woodwinds (i.e. "Poot" - a cylindrical bore brass mouthpiece/recorder fingered instrument made from PVC) to several sizes of beautiful looking and sounding violas da gamba, a lute, Tambura (Indian drone instrument), many flutes and pennywhistles and more.
