Class 11 Nov. 15 (due Class 12 Nov. 29)
1. Read Chapter 12 and Middle Level Articles
2. Be prepared to discuss and Hand In Middle Level Teaching/Behavior paper
3. Share 3rd lesson plans
4. Prepare for quiz
Class 10 November 8 (due Class 11 Nov. 15)
1. Read Chapter 15 Q's: 1, 2, 5 / Chapter 16 Q's: 1, 2, 3
2. Hand In Written Lesson Plan - explain changes from last week
3. Continue mentoring VTMIDI piece - requirement: Say good luck and congratulations to your mentees.
4. Review Semester Assignments and bring/email anything outstanding
Class 9 November 1 (due Class 10 Nov. 8)
1. Read Chapter 11 Q's: 1, 3, 5/ Chapter 13 Q's: 1, 2, 4, 7
2. Share and Hand In Written Lesson Plan
3. Continue mentoring VTMIDI piece - requirement: Say good luck and congratulations to your mentees.
4. Review Semester Assignments and bring/email anything outstanding
Class 8 Oct. 25(due Class 9 Nov. 1)
1. Read 3 Articles on Critical Thinking (find on the Resources page)
2. Share your recruiting presentation or share your detailed list with explanations & descriptions of how you would recruit
3. Share your program for a school concert (see links to Music Publishers on the Resources page)
4. Begin or continue mentoring VTMIDI piece - requirements: choose at least one piece (middle or high school level) to follow that has or will have revisions. Respond everytime there is a new post by the student. If there are no new posts in a week or 2, choose another piece.
5. Write a one week rehearsal plan for a HS band or chorus class
6. Write your 2nd lesson plan (Critical Thinking) - rough draft due Nov. 1, finished due Nov. 8. Teach Nov. 15
7. Decide whether you want to teach your 3rd lesson in class or at Hazen
8. Think about and be prepared to discuss (calmly) the issue of religious music in schools
Class 7 Oct. 11 (due Class 8 , Oct. 25)

5. Write a summary and review of your time at the VMEA Conference - this serves 3 purposes: 1. to selp you reflect on what you learned 2. to let me know what you did there and how you felt about it 3. to give feedback to the organizers for how to improve it in future years

Note: Be prepared to teach your lesson Monday, October 11! You each have a maximum of 30 minutes. Be prepared for a LONG class (but it'll be fun)!

A Major paper on: Your Philosophy of Music Education including a definition of what you think MUSIC is and bulleted belief statements • Double spaced, well composed, 3-4 pages.

Fill out the form comparing your HS experience to the National Standards
