Curriculum Development - review anything outstanding or in need of review a) If you haven't done this...download the Course Sequence document (here) and place the courses in the blocks for each semester - EMAIL IT TO ME so we can share them in class. Think about what should be revised if you think it takes too long. b) Write a course syllabus for your assigned course (see the BIG list for yours). Use the Syllabus Template - don't do any of the italicized parts) 4. Reading: Chapter 10 - Challenges in Music Ed. Answer questions: 3, 4, 5, 8, 9 5. Continue to look for unintended consequences and revisions. Visualize what the final document should look like. 4. Reading: Chapter 7 - The Nature of the Music Program - Answer the PROJECT Questions 5. Be prepared to present your Portfolio to the class. One more week to enrich and revise before handing in. 6. Portfolios should have: TOC, Chapter dividers, Resume, Transcript, Observation logs, Awards, etc. and if you have these from previous classes: Letters of recommendation, Belief/Philosophy Statement, Standards Based Unit Plan, Sample Lesson Plans, other papers, etc.

Continue observations & writings 3. Review Courses in Big List - think about unintended consequences, SEQUENCE of courses, number of credits, semesters to complete, etc. 4. Reading: Chapter 6 - The Development of the Profession Answer Qs. 1, 4, 6, 7, 10 5. Bring your started PORTFOLIO to class along with your completes Portfolio Assessment 6.
